Who We Are Videos

Who Is Our Ideal Customer?

Downhill
Interested in ability to be connected on some rides yet use flat pedals on other rides. Like idea of easy release when crashing. Not concerned about shaving grams like the spandex-clad riders.

BMX Racers
BMX racers want to keep feet connected to pedals but release if they crash. MagLOCK Bike Pedal provides this ability to be connected for full 360 degree pedaling power yet easily release when the rider crashes.

Amateur Rider
Worried about using clipless pedals since they have heard the horror stories of not being able to clip out. Interested in ability to get in and get out easily. Not being mechanically affixed to pedals provides comfort.

Amputee
Without an ankle joint, very difficult to rotate foot to the side (motion required for clipless pedals). With MagLOCK Bike Pedals, push knee out to the side to release. The easy in feature makes it easy to get into pedal without needing to feel pedal (unable to feel pedal without nerves in the foot).

Artificial Knees / HipsĀ Recumbent
Due to the positioning of recumbant riders, it can be difficult to clip feet into clipless pedals and twist feet out of clipless pedals. MagLOCK Bike Pedal addresses this by making it possible to step into the pedals and push knee out to the side to release.

Muni (Mountain Unicyclists)
Mountain Unicyclists are interested in the ability to clip in and clip out easily. They often need to put their feet down to balance. They also need to quickly start on a steep slope so the ability to clip in quickly is important.

Fat Bikes
Not as concerned about additional weight. Snow can lodge in the clipless pedal shoe clips, which isn’t an issue with the MagLOCK Bike Pedal shoe clips.

Enduro
Similar to downhillers, some like the non-permanent attachment of the pedals. According to one enduro rider, “I feel the selling points for MagLOCK and enduro is you get the best of both worlds. The efficiency of the clipless for the long climbs but still have the stability / flexibility of a flat downhill pedal. Knowing my feet wont slip off yet having the confidence to be able to put my feet down when I’m in trouble and not having to think about it. A pedal for all occasions and abilities.

Triathletes
Like the idea of being able to get in and out quickly. Also interested in the possibility of future shoe clip developments that could be integrated into running shoes. Weight is a concern.

Cyclocross
Like the idea of being able to get in and out quickly so that they can jump over obstacles, etc. Weight is a concern.

Commuters
Can use pedals as flat pedals and clip into the same pedals.
